Hi Friend,

June always catches me off guard.

One minute it’s January and we’re writing goals, choosing words for the year, and feeling excited about fresh starts. The next thing I know, we’re halfway through the year asking ourselves where the time went.

And between us, I’ve had seasons where I looked up and realized I wasn’t stuck because I lacked ability.

I wasn’t stuck because I needed another certification, title, or more experience.

I was stuck because I was doing good work,

but I wasn’t positioning myself in a way

that allowed others to fully see my value.

Let’s have an honest conversation for a minute.

Before you set another goal or add one more thing to your to-do list, pause and ask yourself:

  • What did I say I wanted to change this year?

  • What’s different today from the beginning of the year?

  • Am I waiting for someone else to notice my value?

That last question can be uncomfortable.

Because many of us were taught to keep our heads down, work hard, and let our work speak for itself.

Hard work matters.

But visibility matters too.

Sometimes the issue isn’t capability.

Sometimes it’s positioning.

The hardest part? Most people don’t even realize the message they’re sending.

Three Signs Your Positioning May Need Attention

You’re trusted. . .but not truly seen.

  • People rely on you constantly, yet your name rarely comes up when leadership conversations happen.

  • You solve problems, keep things moving, and people trust you. But somehow your impact isn’t always part of the bigger conversation.

You’re busy all day. . .but still feel professionally stuck.

  • You end most days exhausted. But not necessarily fulfilled.

  • Your calendar is full, your workload is heavy, but your growth feels stalled.

  • You’re getting things done all day long, but deep down you know you’re capable of more.

You keep hoping your work will speak for itself.

But visibility doesn’t happen accidentally.

Being valuable and feeling visible aren’t always the same thing.

Here’s two things I’ve learned over the years:

People rarely see us differently until we start showing up differently.

People can’t appreciate our value if they don’t fully see it or understand it.

Not by becoming louder.

Not by pretending to be someone we’re not.

But by paying attention to the story we’re teaching people to believe about us.

There were seasons in my career where people saw me as ‘helpful’, but not necessarily strategic.

And the truth is, part of that was because I was unintentionally teaching people to see me that way.

  • I stayed behind the scenes.

  • I minimized my ideas.

  • I focused so much on supporting others

And neglected to communicate the value I was bringing.

Positioning isn’t self-promotion.

It’s helping people understand the value you already bring.

Recently, I heard Jefferson Fisher, author of The Next Conversation, say, “One conversation can change everything.” And I haven’t stopped thinking about it.

Sometimes that conversation is with yourself.

Try asking yourself these three questions:

  1. What do people repeatedly come to me for?

  2. What problem do I naturally solve?

  3. If I disappeared for 30 days, what would people miss most?

Those answers reveal more than your responsibilities.

They reveal your value.

Mid-Year Positioning Reset Workbook

Inside you’ll find:

✓ A mid-year honest check-in

✓ Positioning and reputation reflection exercises

✓ Visibility and confidence prompts

✓ Action plan for the second half of the year

Sometimes the biggest shift isn’t becoming more valuable.

It’s recognizing and communicating the value that’s already there.

If you’re feeling stuck, invisible,

or ready to step into a bigger version of yourself professionally,

that’s exactly the work I love doing

through coaching, speaking, and development programs.

You don’t need to become someone different.

You simply need to position the value you already bring.

To your growth,
