Hi Friend,
Before the year gets busy—
Before calendars fill up, priorities shift, and everyone else’s needs start coming first—I want to pause with you for a moment.
January has a way of rushing us forward before we’ve had a chance to ask an important question:
What do I actually want this year?
This year, my husband and I chose to start differently. Instead of jumping straight into goals and commitments, we stepped away from routine and created space—space to rest, think, and talk honestly about what this next chapter needs to look like before the year gets busy.
It became our first annual retreat.
Nothing fancy. Nothing rushed. Just intentional.
What surprised me most wasn’t how restorative it was—it was how quickly clarity returned once we stopped rushing and created space.
When the noise quieted, the answers weren’t far away.
A tool that helped me get clear
One of the anchors for that time was The Roadmap to Empowering You. Not as a checklist or a productivity tool—but as a way to think differently.
We used it to step back and ask:
What still fits?
What no longer does?
Where do I want to be more intentional this year?
That experience reminded me of something I see constantly in my work with administrative professionals:
Clarity doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from asking better questions—and giving yourself space to hear the answers.

Questions worth asking before you say yes to anything
If your role requires you to support everyone else, these questions matter even more:
What do I truly want more of this year—and what am I ready to release?
Where do I feel energized, and where do I feel drained?
What does success actually look like for me in this season?
What kind of space do I need to think clearly and move intentionally?
What’s one decision that would help me feel more grounded and confident?
To support you, I created a free reflection worksheet you can complete in one sitting or revisit throughout the year. It’s designed specifically to help you slow down, get centered, and reconnect with what matters most—without pressure or overwhelm.

A habit I’m continuing into this year
Last year, I committed to a daily reading ritual, and I’m continuing it into 2026 because of how grounding it’s been. It’s become a small but powerful way to stay reflective, intentional, and open to growth—even during busy seasons.
Sometimes it’s not about adding more.
It’s about creating space for what already matters.

One more way to use your voice
As part of this focus on clarity and intention, I want to share something I’m involved in behind the scenes.
Along with a group of experienced executive leaders, speakers, and trainers, I’m helping design a new experience for executive assistants and administrative professionals—and your voice is shaping it.
If you’re willing to take two minutes, your input will help shape resources that actually support your growth—based on what you say matters most.
As a thank you, everyone who completes the form will be entered into a drawing for a Starbucks gift card.
No pressure. Just an opportunity to be heard.
A seed I’m gently planting
That retreat experience planted an idea I’m simply holding—and thoughtfully sharing.
What would it look like to gather once a year in a beautiful, intentional space—focused on clarity, reflection, growth, and meaningful connection? No rush. No noise. Just space to reset and realign.
I’m not announcing anything yet. I’m simply paying attention to what resonates. If the idea of an annual retreat—possibly somewhere restorative like Hawaii—sparks curiosity, you’re welcome to reply with a simple “I’m interested” or “Tell me more someday.”
No commitment. Just conversation.
As you move into this year, I hope you remember this:
You don’t need to do more to be valuable.
You need clarity, confidence, and space to lead yourself well.
I’m so glad you’re here.
