July Newsletter

Summer is in full swing…or rather full speed!

In the June newsletter, I promised to share my goal progression and tips for overcoming limiting beliefs.

And I’m going to give you the whole truth. . .
I’ve made progress, but I’m not where I want to be. In fact, it’s been a roller coaster. In the past six months, I’ve had times where I’ve been focused, disciplined, and on track. Other months, you guessed it, I was up and down and even times when I was completely off track. After taking some time to reflect on my progress, I realized that I was the person holding me back. It wasn’t my schedule, family, or career; it was me!

Here’s the good news:
No matter where you are, you can start over.
Your goals are a decision away.

Every goal I’ve ever achieved has begun with a decision and then daily actions to make that decision, that dream a reality.

What’s holding you back? IS IT YOU? To get off the roller coaster and get what you want, you’ve got to get out of your own way.

What helped me to get back on track and off the roller coaster?

A solid, disciplined, and intentional routine:
Once I began doing these four simple yet powerful things every morning – everything changed!

Once I began doing these four simple yet powerful things every morning – everything changed!

“How you begin your day is how you end your day.”

  1. Writing down my goals daily
    • Most people never write down their goals.
    • Those that do are 42% more likely to achieve them.
    • Most of us get reviewed annually if you’re lucky, quarterly. And we dread the prep for the goals meeting.
    • Imagine how much more prepared you’d be if you wrote your goals daily.
    • Imagine how clear your focus and priorities would be.
  2. Meditating and visualizing my goals and seeing myself
    • Being who I want
    • Living how I want
    • Doing what I want
    • Feeling like I want
    • Having what I want
  3. Journaling what I was visualizing, thinking, and feeling and creating a plan for the day.
  4. Having gratitude for:
    • Where I am today
    • What I’m capable of
    • My talents and capabilities

This is what it takes to get you and me to where we want to go.

Begin the journey with a commitment to you for 10 minutes:

⏰10 minutes of writing without critiquing, just putting what’s in my heart, mind, and soul to the page.
⏰10 minutes of moving my body – daily
⏰Reminding myself that I wrote my first book in 3 months and my second book in about the same time frame. All it takes is a focused, consistent effort.

You gotta keep your goals in front of you. There are far too many distractions competing for our time. We have to decide to focus on what we want and not just what’s in front of us.

Recentering yourself each morning is critical. It points you in the right direction.

10 minutes makes all the difference.

You can find 10 minutes.

I encourage you to make this part of your daily routine. Commit yourself. Try it for one week, then send me an email to let me know how you’re doing.

My last raffle was so successful I decided to do another.
The winner will receive a $50 gift card.

  • Show my book.  Take a picture of your favorite page, or quote and paste it on social media.  You get to choose which book to highlight:  NOT JUST AN ADMIN! or Mean Girl No More.  Each post equals one raffle entry.
  • Want to get even more entries?  Create a video of you reading your favorite sentence or paragraph out loud and post it on social media.  Each video equals three raffle entries.

Make sure to tag me with my name @PeggyVasquez and book name @notjustanadmin or @meangirlnomore

Good luck and I can’t wait to see all the entries!

One connection can make all the difference.
